Joy and I just got back from a fantastic trip up to Washington, D.C. We met up with her extended family to be a part of her Uncle Howard’s retirement from the Air Force. He was a 2-star General and this was quite a special occasion. We were privileged to be able to stay on base during our trip and Joy had the honor of singing at the beginning of the ceremony.

While in D.C., we did the usual stuff, like touring the museum and monuments, but we were also able to take a public tour of the Pentagon, a rare treat! I tried to take lots of pictures of everything (most museums don’t allow photography) but I did manage to get some pretty good night shots of the monuments at the national mall. Last year Joy had the opportunity of a lifetime… a chance to go with our church choir to sing over in Israel. She visited over Christmas and New Years and visited many amazing sites and sung in several churches. She brought back great souvenirs and stories. While we can’t share the souvenirs with you, we can share something else: PICTURES! We’ve finally got a great selection of photos up in a gallery.

Joy and I recently traveled to Walt Disney World with her family and truly had a magical time. We spent 3 nights and 4 days in the Magic Kindgom and were able to visit all of the parks. Joy wasn’t as adventurous and I was, and despite all the walking involved, nearly 20,000 steps a day, I rode almost all of the major rides.

We were so blessed to be able to spend our time at the park with her family and we want to thank them all for the wonderful times and memories. I hope that we cant return in the future, maybe with kids, and share the magic again!
