Sorry for the extended delay since the last blog update. It has been a crazy month and half! Back in October everyone in the house got sick. Spencer got his first cold, then Daryl got bronchitis, which later turned into atypical pneumonia. Then Joy got bronchitis! Everyone’s since had a round of antibiotics and I’m pleased to say we’re all much better.
Say Cheese!
Right before everyone got sick last month, we packed up Spencer and drove to Little Rock, Arkansas to meet with Joy’s parents and her sister Julie and her kids. Tammy, a friend of the family, took some great pictures of everyone. Spencer enjoyed getting to meet his cousins again and we got some great photos.

The timing also worked out so that we could see my Aunt Susanne and Uncle Jimmy for her 60th birthday while we were in Little Rock. Spencer got all dressed up in slacks, a striped shirt, and suspenders.

Monsters, Tigers, and Dragons, oh my!
Even though he’s still too young to go out trick-or-treating, we couldn’t help but get a few costumes for Spencer. The first costume was Mike from the Pixar movie, Monsters, Inc. This outfit even came with a cute little hat with horns for Spencer to wear.

The second costume was even cuter, even though it was a little too large and didn’t fit perfectly, though I think that made it look even cuter! Here’s Spencer dressed up as a fierce fire-breathing dragon (I wonder if he likes tacos?).

Monthly Milestones
Since we last checked in, Spencer has hit some more milestones… 5 and 6 months! You can really see how big he’s getting in these two photos.

At his 6 month check-up, Spencer tipped the scales at 18 lbs. 5 oz and he was 25.5″ tall. This kid is becoming a chunk! For his adjusted age, he’s in the 97th percentile for weight, 90th for head size, and 75th for height. We feel so blessed that he’s doing so well. The only downside is that he’s going through outfits like crazy. Right now he’s wearing a 9 mo. but he’ll probably be in 12 mo. outfits by the end of the year.
Out and About
Spencer’s personality it really starting to show. Here’s a couple of our favorite photos from the last few weeks that show some great expression.

First time for everything
Spencer’s cousin Sophie got to hold Spencer a few weeks ago.

We’ve also started supplementing his milk with baby food. Spencer really like sweet potato, butternut squash, apples, and bananas.

Sorry again for the lack of updates! We tend to spend most of our time just hanging out with Spencer and taking photos when we can. We’ll try to keep those photos and news coming in. We hope everyone is doing well. Ta-ta for now!
