As I was coming into work this morning, I merged onto Research Park Boulevard towards my office. Just after I crossed over the interstate, I saw a strange looking car coming up behind me, most likely just off of I-565. It seemed to be a fairly new Chevy Cobalt sedan but there was something weird sticking up straight from the center of the roof. There was a post about 4 to 5 feet long with a little black box on top. Then it hit me… this HAD to be one of those Google Street View mapping cars!!!
My exit was fast approaching so I had to act fast. I readied my camera phone and started slowing for my turn. As I pulled off, the Cobalt eased on by and sure enough, on the passenger door was a small magnetic sign that said “Google Maps” on it! I tried to snap a picture but you know how long it takes digital cameras to focus and snap a picture. Here’s what I got:

If you look at this picture, you’ll see the exact same car. I think the license plates are the same too. I remember it was a California tag that started with “52” or “5Z”.
So, I wonder if you’ll be able to see ME on the street level view of Research Park Boulevard in a few months. I’ll be the one in white truck holding my camera phone up to the window.
